Expanding Your Precuts
Ever buy a layer cake or any precut but aren’t sure what to make? And if you can’t figure out what to make, you don’t have enough fabric to make the project and aren’t sure what to do? Then the layer cake, stacker, jelly roll, or whatever pre-cut you have just sits on a shelf or in a bin waiting for the right project. I think this has happened to all of us. I am here to help you expand on your pre-cuts.

Quilted Table Runner Made Simple
In this tutorial, I will take you step-by-step through the process of creating a super easy (and amazing!) quilted table runner using 2.5" fabric strips, either scraps, leftover jelly roll strips, or jelly roll precuts. While making this project, I will show you some tips and tricks to help you with it. The fast strip-piecing construction is perfect for all levels of quilters, including beginners.

Everything Jelly Rolls
So, what is it exactly? A jelly roll, which got its name from the pretty shape, is a set of 2.5” fabric strips. Each usually contains (40-42) 2.5” x WOF (width of fabric), but some contain less. Because the width of fabric (selvage to selvage) can vary between prints, each strip can be shorter of longer depending on the print. Generally, each strip is between 42” and 44” long.
