Check out the video that goes with this blog HERE.
Where It Started:
It is hard to believe that it is my third year doing this. Setting these yearly goals that I hope to turn into habits has changed my quilting life, and I hope it has changed your, too. Interested in finding out more about previous years and goal setting in general? Start here

2026 Quilting Goals and Habits
Without further ado, here are my Quilting Goals/Habits for 2026! If you would like to follow along and create your own goals, I have a list of I also have a free monthly worksheet to help track your goals each month.
These videos and blogs have helped keep my accountable. After all, I know I will be reporting to all of YOU on this, and I don’t want to let you down. I highly recommend having someone to keep you accountable, if not in a public way like I am doing, then in a group of friends. It helps me so much!
Want to work on your own quilting habits and goals? Here’s a tracking worksheet to help you!
February Happenings & Highlights
Why does February, the shortest month, always feel like the longest month? I blame the cold and snow, at least here in Pennsylvania. Because of the frigid weather, I haven’t ventured out much! I am so ready for spring. It will be here soon, right? Let’s hope so! On the brighter side, I did get to spend a lot of time in my sewing room! That always helps. Here’s what I have been up to:
My wonderful husband built me two more pegboards, which, if you are counting, is a total of four in my sewing room. He is such a blessing!
I started physical therapy for my shoulder. If you followed along last year, you know I had a bad run of health issues. Honestly, I am so over this!
A big snow storm dumped about 16” on us this month. At least Daisy, our golden retriever, is loving all this snow. Us? Not so much!
I made a cute heart wall hanging along with a full tutorial. I also made more owl blocks, which is also a tutorial. So fun!
The Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks project is coming along nicely, too. I made 16 more blocks this month. I guess there are benefits to being stuck inside. Ha! I also made a bunch of design boards to help with the organization of these blocks. I love how they turned out.
Our washer died. RIP washer. It was a good 13 years.
Embroidery floss organization! This was a long time coming!
And if you are reading this, you will be the first to know the news! I am participating in the 12 Days of Quiltmas 2026! I even bought my fabric already. Shhhhh. If you aren’t sure what this is, it is an event where 12 Quilting content creators come together for a collaboration in a 12-day event. I participate in 2022 and 2024.
February’s Goal Update
Goal 1: Use It or Lose It
Score: 5/5
Wow, I really did well at this goal this month! I reworked the churn dash blocks I showed last month, I organized my embroidery floss (HUGE task), and I even finished the 144-piece postage stamp block, all hand-pieced. What? I guess this is a good reminder to never say never, right? I am excited about continuing to make these blocks. Who am I? HA!
Glow: Look at me, kicking this goal’s butt!
Grow: You still have a way to go, Kris. Don’t get too far ahead of yourself!
Goal 2: Clean As I Go
Score: 3/5
Although I wasn’t perfect with this goal, I did pretty well overall. I got into the weeds a little bit when I started curating the old quilts. I had piles everywhere and struggled to get back on track from that. After all, in my experience, chaos breeds chaos. That said, once I got a grip on things, the rest of the month went smoothly. One wonderful outcome from this (and other) goals is that I see it spilling over into other areas of my life. For example, I am keeping my car much cleaner. Who knew?
Glow: I recognized the moment things got out of hand and reeled it back in.
Grow: Have a plan of action for big projects like curating old quilts.
Goal 3: Curate & Catalog My Quilts
Score: 5/5
I did it! I finally did it! I will admit this is the scariest of all of the goals for me. I know it is a huge task, and it is intimidating. There are many reasons for this, I think. First, I am nervous about getting so overwhelmed and giving up. It has happened before. Next, I am a little nervous about just how many quilts are actually in my home! Eeek! But, I started. I made a spreadsheet (I hate spreadsheets) and started curating the quilts. It is happening. I decided to tag the quilts with a number that corresponds with the dreaded spreadsheet. On the spreadsheet, I am keeping track of everything. Honestly, it has been helpful. I hope I keep it up. I hope it works. I hope I don’t find a million quilts. HA!
Glow: Even though I didn’t want to start and had concerns, I started.
Grow: I need to keep up with momentum. I can do this!
Goal 4: Practicing Walking Foot Quilting
Score: 0/5
I quilted one small project. That’s it. Nothing to see here. Move along. Hahahaha!
Glow: I’ve got nothing.
Grow: Do better.
Goal 5: Sewing 15 Minutes Each Day
Score: 5/5
THIS I did great at! I really stayed on track with sewing each day, and look at these blocks! It is coming together so nicely! I love them so much. I am also glad I decided to make a bunch of different colors. I think this will be an amazing quilt.
Glow: Continue to sew each day. It helps my mental health so much, and look at the beautiful project that is coming from this practice!
Grow: Don’t lose momentum. You’ve got this!
I would love to hear how you did with your goals this month. Let me know in the comments!
Happy Quilting,
Kris
